Giles Bravery has booked leading French jockey Olivier Peslier for Torgau in the Sagitta 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday, for which 26 fillies were confirmed yesterday.

Torgau won the Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket last season before finishing second to Preseli in the Moyglare Stud Stakes and to Seazun in the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes.

"Torgau is grand - no problems - and Olivier Peslier will ride her," the Newmarket trainer said.

Bravery believes Torgau has an outside chance in the Classic. He said: "I think she is a 20 to 1 shot but it was nice to see Seazun run such a good race (second to antepost favourite Petrushka in the Nell Gwyn Stakes) and we are about the same as her."

Seazun's trainer Mick Channon also has Areydha and Miletrian in the 1,000 Guineas and he said: "I like Areydha, who has always worked very well at home. Miletrian probably needs a mile and a half, she could be our Oaks filly."

Highclere Thoroughbred Racing own Petrushka and spokesman Tim Jones said of the market leader: "She worked yesterday and the work-watchers were out and reported she went nicely - all is well."
