Co Cork is proving a happy hunting ground for Parteen Pitch and Putt club in Clare

Co Cork is proving a happy hunting ground for Parteen Pitch and Putt club in Clare. For the second time in three years they won the National Mixed Foursomes title when their 172 points left them three clear of second placed Glenville A from Tallaght in Dublin with Templebreedy (Cork) taking third place. Parteen were successful in 1998 at Lakelands and on Sunday in Glanmire their team of Joe Forde, Mary O'Reilly, Marie O'Halloran and Mick O'Halloran again found the winning formula.

Meanwhile, the Irish Women's Pitch and Putt team to face the Rest of Europe in Milan on September 13th is: Geraldine Ward (Portmarnock), Marian Byrne and Bernadette Coffey (St Brigid's, Kilcullen), Peggy Campbell (Glenville, Tallaght), Londa O'Donovan (Collins, Cork) and Clare Murphy (ESB, Cork).
