After a little respite to soothe his post-Open blues, Colin Montgomerie returns to the fray on the European Tour and is immediately installed as 4 to 1 favourite to retain his Volvo Scandinavian Masters crown.

Monty may be sponsored by Lexus, but he has a little thing going with Volvo too - that is, when it comes to winning their titles. Earlier this season, he retained his Volvo PGA title (to make it three in a row, in fact) while, in his day, he has also won the season-ending Volvo Masters.

However, going on the horses for courses theory, Jasper Parnevik - making one of those increasingly rare transatlantic journeys - could be the man to beat this week. On offer at 10 to 1, Parnevik was an impressive winner of this tournament when it was last held on the Kungsangen course near Stockholm two years ago.

Keeping the Scandinavian connection, Thomas Bjorn - who pulled out prior to last week's Dutch Open - is also tempting at 16 to 1, especially with a week's rest. However, Parnevik's liking for the course could be the deciding factor.
