Jesper Parnevik took advantage of a hot putter and calm conditions to shoot a seven-under-par 65 last night and share the first-round lead with Australians Ben Ferguson and Geoff Ogilvy at the Honda Classic at Coral Springs, Florida..
Parnevik needed just 22 putts to post his best round of the year. The Swede birdied three of the first four holes and never came close to making a bogey.
Among a large group on 67 were 16-year-old Ty Tryon, a Monday qualifier who could become the youngest player to make a cut in a PGA event.
Ireland's Richie Coughlan shot 71 and is tied in 76th place.
