Oxx to double up with Simawa and Flash McGahon

DUNDALK PREVIEW:BLACK TYPE action returns to Dundalk tonight and that status will be important to Sinndar's half-sister Simawa who can complete a double for the John Oxx-Michael Kinane team.

Simawa is one of just a pair of three-year-olds among the seven lining up for the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Salsabil Stakes and while it is usually difficult for the classic generation against their elders at this time of year Simawa can buck the rules.

There was a lot to like about the way she knuckled down to win a maiden at Leopardstown last November and the English Oaks and Irish Derby entry must be showing Oxx plenty for the normally cautious trainer to pitch her in here.

The Pontefract winner, Flying Clarets, is a cross-channel raider and the 103-rated Truly Mine was last in last Sunday's Park Express Stakes at the Curragh. However, neither looks anything for the younger horse to be scared of.

The Dundalk Racing Club will be anxious for Flash McGahon to strike at their local track and an inside draw around the five furlongs of the conditions race, the Marshes Shopping Centre Race, looks ideal for the former Stakes winner.

Sleeveless had a good run behind Solas Na Greine here last August and the experienced filly will relish the extended 10 furlongs in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Handicap.

Knowing Wink can give Durragh trainer Dermot Weld victory in the last, the one-mile maiden.
