Westmeath scored a facile win over London at Mullingar. Des Dolan and Ger Heavin with goals in the ninth and 10th minutes demoralised the exiles as the home team led 2-9 to 0-0 at half-time.

Kevin Waldron had London's opening point three minutes into the second half. The points continued to flow for Westmeath from Dolan, Heavin, Shane Deering, Eamonn Fleming, Damien Healey and Derek Heavin. Lar Gillivan's last-minute goal completed an unhappy day for the visitors.
