THE STEPHEN ROCHE Grand Prix cycle race at Dundrum last evening was incorporated by Dublin Wheelers into their Dublin Bus five-day race, as stage three, and the winner, Stephen O'Sullivan, from Bray, took over the lead from Andy Roche.
With five of the 30 laps of a circuit of just under a mile to go, O'Sullivan went clear with Roche, Colm Farrell and Barry Whelan, but a lap later O'Sullivan was on his own 10 seconds ahead.
Although the gap was down to seven seconds with two laps left, O'Sullivan kept going strongly to win and Roche was only fourth behind Farrell and Whelan. Now it's O'Sullivan's turn for the leaders yellow jersey at Swords this evening.
