O'Shea to continue as Kerry boss

Pat O'Shea was last night confirmed as Kerry football manager for the coming year by county chairman Seán Walsh.

Once the Munster Council gave the green light, O'Shea was almost certain to be reappointed after masterminding Kerry's All-Ireland success this season, in his first year in charge. Walsh, whose 10-year term ends in December, confirmed no one else was in the frame for the post.

O'Shea of Dr Crokes will again be joined by selectors Dr Dave Geaney and Seán Geaney while John Sugrue will continue as physical trainer. The term will be for one year principally because of O'Shea's Munster Council job.

There is a change at under-21 level, where the panel will be taken under the wing of senior management with Seán Geaney looking after the side for the coming year. Geaney takes over from John O'Dwyer, son of Mick O'Dwyer, whose two-year term ended after a first-round defeat away to Clare last year.
