Tchaikovsky, third in the Irish Derby to Monjeu, remains a possible runner in Saturday's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes.

Trainer Aidan O'Brien will make a final decision later in the week about whether the Sadlers Wells colt does take part in the all-aged championship race at Ascot.

Currently, the Godolphin runner Daylami heads the market, but the increasing confidence of the connections of the Hong Kong Champion Indigenous indicates that this may not be the strongest King George of recent years.

O'Brien did give a stronger indication that his unbeaten two-year-old Rossini will line up for the Prix Robert Papin at Mason Lafitte next week.

The fare at Ballinrobe this evening is somewhat more basic, but that won't matter to the Co Galway trainer Iggy Madden, who runs Ten Four in the Beginners Chase.

The eight-year-old is making a quick re-appearance after beating the apparent hotpot Beacon Lane by four-and-a-half lengths in a handicap hurdle at Killarney last Thursday. Afterwards, Madden indicated that Ten Four would make his chasing debut after Galway, so his appearance here looks significant.

Another horse that ran well at Killarney was Luminoso, who should find the 10 furlongs of the Apprentice Handicap right up his alley.

The second race tonight is hardly the most competitive, so Charlie Swan's Cloone Bridge gets the vote.
