LIMERICK SFC FINAL Monaleen 1-9 Adare 1-5:ADARE failed to score in the second half of a keenly-contested Limerick football final at Newcastle West as Monaleen won their third title this decade.

Liam Costelloe’s 18th minute goal helped Adare to a 1-5 to 0-4 interval lead but Monaleen took control in the second half. By the end of the third quarter they had drawn level thanks to two pointed frees by Muiris Gavin and two from play by Cormac Joyce-Power.

A superb solo run by county hurler Brian Geary set up Jason O’Brien for Monaleen’s goal which clinched their victory.
