GREG NORMAN is expected to turn down an invitation to the World Match Play championship, at Wentworth from October 17th-20th.

The world number one will be in Britain for the previous week's Alfred Dunhill Cup at St Andrews, but is likely to fly out straight afterwards.

Norman, winner of the World Match Play in 1980, 1983 and 1986, was interested in returning to, the 12 man event last year, but did not receive an invitation from his former management company, Mark McCormack's IMG.
