The way things are going, Stephen Constantine might be getting a call from the English FA any day soon, according to Supergoals.com. The 38-year-old Londoner is the manager of Nepal who, before he took over in the summer of 1999, had won just twice in five years. Within weeks, though, he had led them to the final of the South Asian Games.
Constantine, who has received the Nepal equivalent of the MBE from the King, says the team resembled "something off Hackney Marshes" before he took over and "lived on rice and lentils" - he got them eating buffalo curry (honest) and, voila, they rose to 137th in the world rankings. "We're not expecting to qualify for the World Cup finals," he admitted, "but if England came to Kathmandu, we'd give them a decent game".
