Dublin City - 1 Drogheda Utd - 1: Whatever manager John Gill said at half-time almost worked a treat for Dublin City against Drogheda United at Tolka Park last night as they went within seconds of claiming only their third win of the league campaign - only to be robbed in the fifth minute of injury-time.

After playing second-fiddle to United during the opening 45 minutes, the Dublin team came out a different side after the restart and looked set to claim a crucial three points.

The home side made the all-important breakthrough just after the hour-mark with a strike which would have been worthy of winning any game. Former Bohemians striker Gary O'Neill hit a sweet, 20-yard shot - from a Killian Brennan knock-down - to the top corner, past a helpless Drogheda goalkeeper Gary Rogers.

However, all that work in the second half was undone by substitute Andy Myler in the fifth minute of injury-time when he curled a 20-yard free-kick in at the far post, just beyond the reach of City goalkeeper Brendan Kennedy.

O'Neill had set the tone for the home side's second-half revival when, only 30 seconds after the restart, he saw his low shot pushed around the post by Rogers.
