Sandra O'Gorman will travel with Muckross Hockey Club to Cardiff on Wednesday where the Dublin team will represent Ireland in the European Club Championships. Proven to be one of the best goalkeepers Ireland has ever produced, O'Gorman has taken time out from international duty but will be making a return in the near future. She currently has 44 caps.

Membership: The total membership is around 100 with players coming from all over the place, Dublin and outside. The club is not just confined to those people who attended Muckross Park school.

Status: The hockey club was founded in 1918 and will celebrate it's 80th anniversary this year.

Honours: We've won the Irish Senior Cup on four occasions, the Leinster Senior Cup 28 times and the league six times. Many of those titles have been won over the last 10 years when we have been lucky enough to have a number of international players on the side.

Finest hour: It was probably receiving the trophy for the best goalkeeper in the world at the World Cup in 1994. It was a great feeling to be awarded the honour when all of the other goalkeepers at the tournament were the best their countries could provide - and the best teams in the world were there competing.

Her Worst Moment: I think it was when I was told I was getting my first cap against Germany in 1991. Germany are always one of the best teams in the world and I had been told I wasn't playing. Then in the morning the coach told me I was in.

Hero: I tend to admire people like Sonia O'Sullivan who are high achievers and who are able to come out of Ireland and take on the best in the world and beat them. It's a great achievement to become a world champion like she has been able to do and to be able to consistently beat the best runners in the world.

Arch Rivals: That keeps changing. It used to be Old Alexandra when they were a very strong side. Now it is Hermes who have developed very well in Leinster over the last few years and up in Ulster it is Pegasus, who always produce a very competitive team.
