National League Premier Division/Longford Town 0 Bohemians 1: Bohemians narrowed the gap on National League Premier Division leaders Shelbourne to 10 points with this victory over Longford Town in Flancare Park on Saturday night.

Both of these sides have Europe on their mind as the Dubliners travel to Estonia and Longford travel to Lichtenstein in the coming weeks for the preliminary stages of the UEFA Cup.

In any case, Bohemians were very much concentrating on league matters on the night as Longford failed to score at home for the fourth game in succession.

Longford Town enjoyed just one period of sustained pressure - midway through the second half - of this entertaining encounter.

During this spell Alan Kirby and Darragh Sheridan brought good saves out of visiting goalkeeper Shay Kelly, while Deane Fitzgerald rattled Kelly's right-hand post on the hour mark.

However, Bohemians were much the better team throughout and scored the game's only goal in the 20th minute when Glen Crowe set up Dave Morrison for a superb, looping winner from 30 yards.

Thomas Heary, Bobby Ryan and Crowe all had super chances to extend the visitors' advantage but Longford goalkeeper, Stephen O'Brien made a string of splendid saves to keep the scoreline to the minimum.
