Moloney to the rescue

Tipperary 1-12 Sligo 0-15:Tipperary captain Stuart Moloney came off the bench to grab a levelling point deep in injury-time at Ardfinnan yesterday.

Sligo led 0-5 to 0-2 after 20 minutes but Tipperary settled, thanks to Declan Browne's accuracy from frees, and at the interval the sides were all square, 0-6 each.

A Hugh Coughlan goal nine minutes into the second half, followed by a Brian Mulvihill point put Tipperary in command but Sligo hit five unanswered points and were leading by two points as injury-time approached. Browne narrowed the gap before Moloney's late intervention.
