With the first and second round action completed on the third day of the Golfsure Irish Amateur Close Championship, all eyes will now focus on match four at the The European Club tomorrow when defending champion Rory McIlroy takes on leading qualifier Andrew Pitcher.

In fact both players equalled the qualifying mark with a two round aggregate of 150 over the weekend. However, Pitcher was awarded the silver medal by virtue of his better second round score of 75 to match his first round score. McIlroy shot 70 followed by an 80 on a day when the game's elite amateurs where blown off course at the treacherous Brittas Bay links.

The pair both won their first round matches by 2 and 1 margins and once again won by the same 5 and 4 margin in the afternoon's second round.

With striking similarity the pair last met at the same stage of last year's North of Ireland championship in Portrush where Pitcher won 4 and 3.
