Mayo win in spite of wides

MAYO were given a timely boost for their National league quarter final meeting with Meath next Sunday when they retained their Connacht football League title at McHale Park with a 1-9 to 0-9 victory over Galway. However, 16 wides to Galway's two would have left Mayo with red faces had they lost a game they dominated.
