Tuesday's match-winner, Dwayne Mattis, will be rewarded with a starting role in midfield when the Republic of Ireland under-18s meet Germany again in a friendly at Richmond Park tonight (kick-off 7.30).

Mattis's headed goal three minutes into injury-time gave Brian Kerr's side a 2-1 win over the talented Germans in Buckley Park and the Irish manager knows tonight's re-match will be equally as close.

"The Germans are a smashing team and we'll have our hands full again tonight," said Kerr, as he reflected on the first game.

With inspirational captain Shaun Byrne, described by Kerr as "magnificent" in the first game, and central defender Jim Goodwin struggling with knocks, Kerr will make several changes as he tries to give all of his squad a run out.
