Newcomer Maskaya had little difficulty seeing off her two opponents to make a successful debut in the Coolmore Danehill Dancer EBF Race at a poorly-attended Navan last night.

James Burns's Machiavellian filly headed odds-on favourite Line Dancer two furlongs out to score by 2-1/2 lengths.

French Smile demonstrated good battling qualities to emerge on top in a three-way tussle for the Coolmore Turtle Island Race. Trainer Dermot Weld described the winner as a "tough horse", although he was unsure where he will be seen next.

The long-absent King Balthasar, having his first start for Ted Walsh, defeated market rival Ry Back to capture the Grattan Beginners' Chase. Scoss made a bold attempt to give the yard a double in the following Trim Handicap Chase, but his attempt to make all was thwarted by Truckinabout.
