AMERICAN FOOTBALL NFL:QUARTERBACK brothers Peyton and Eli Manning kept their teams' unbeaten records alive as the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants won in the fourth week of action in America.

Peyton Manning threw more than 300 yards for his fourth consecutive game as the Colts went to 4-0 with a 34-17 home win over a Seattle Seahawks team missing injured quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.

In Kansas City, Eli Manning threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, two of them to wide receiver Steve Smith, as the Giants rolled over the winless Chiefs 27-16.

However, there was a concern for the Giants as Manning left the game in the fourth quarter with a bruised heel.

There was more woe for last year’s AFC South champions, the Tennessee Titans, as they slipped to 0-4 with a 37-17 defeat at divisional rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In the same division, the Houston Texans joined Jacksonville on 2-2 behind the unbeaten Colts with a 29-6 win over the Oakland Raiders.

The Baltimore Ravens lost their unbeaten record when they went down 27-21 at the New England Patriots.

A week after snapping a 19-game losing streak, the Detroit Lions were brought back down to earth with a bump with a 48-24 defeat at the Chicago Bears.

The Washington Redskins sent the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a fourth straight defeat with a 16-13 win in the capital, all their points coming in the second half having trailed 10-0. Quarterback Jason Campbell made amends for three interceptions with two touchdown throws.

In Cleveland, new head coach Eric Mangini slipped to his fourth straight defeat as the Browns were beaten 23-20 in overtime by Ohio rivals the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals had pulled level with a Chad Ochocinco touchdown two minutes before the end of regulation, only to have Shayne Graham’s extra point blocked by Cleveland’s Shaun Rogers.

Graham redeemed himself in overtime by sending over the winning field goal from 31 yards.

The New York Jets saw their unbeaten start to the season end in New Orleans as the unbeaten Saints pounced on rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez in a 24-10 victory at the Superdome.

The victory sends New Orleans to the top of NFC South with a 4-0 record while the Jets slip to 3-1 in AFC East alongside the Patriots.
