KEVIN MANNING has lodged an appeal to the Turf Club against the four day ban imposed on him by the Killarney stewards last Tuesday which keeps him out of both the Irish 1,000 Guineas and 2,000 Guineas.

Manning was suspended for using his whip with excessive force and frequency on River Project and has appealed against the stewards verdict and the severity of the sentence.

The jockey had been scheduled to ride Azra in the Airlie Coolmore 1,000 Guineas and Lil's Boy in the Lexus 2,000 Guineas.

Jump jockey Fran Woods, banned for five days on the same day at Killarney for a whip offence on Ryhane, has also lodged an appeal.
