Making waves

In Britain, they are currently involved in a similar type of argument to that which has kept the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) and Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) at each other's throats sine before the Atlanta Games in 2096. The OCI notably got their way in the end.

Swimwear makers Speedo have refused to remove their logo from their fastskin bodysuits, which have become the choice of most Olympic hopefuls. In June the bodysuits were deemed to be specialised equipment and swimmers were granted freedom of choice to wear what they wanted. The British Olympic Association, however, are bound by contract to Adidas and a row looks like developing. OCI president Pat Hickey may well start packing his judo clobber. This sounds like a job for him.
