Longford 0-16 Roscommon 2-8:LONGFORD RECOVERED from the setback of conceding a couple of early goals to stage a tremendous second-half comeback, coming from five points down to eventually get the better of their neighbours at windswept Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

Roscommon were looking good when Cathal Cregg and Ger Heneghan (the latter receiving a terrific pass from Conor Devaney) found the back of the net in the fifyh and seventh minutes, and the visitors ended up leading by three points at the break, 2-4 to 0-7.

But a fitter Longford side finally got their act together and took over completely in the second half, including scoring seven points in a row, to maintain their unbeaten run in the quest for promotion.
