National League: Longford Town have been granted the licence they require to compete in this year's Eircom League Premier Division, although the FAI's licensing appeals board also handed down a €5,000 fine for breaches by the club of the scheme's regulations. The financial penalty has been suspended until the end of the season, when it will be lifted if the club are fully compliant with the rules at that stage.

Longford's problems centred on their failure to deliver proper accounts by the required date. That the club have been granted a licence means that the recently published provisional fixture list for the coming season can now be finalised.
