A goal by substitute Brian Clarke with his first touch after 40 minutes guaranteed victory for Kerry over Limerick in the McGrath Cup at Abbeyfeale.

Kerry, just back from their holiday in Hawaii, surprised Limerick by fielding nine of their All-Ireland-winning side.

In the absence of Maurice Fitzgerald, Michael Francis Russell took over the free-taking and contributed four points from frees, in addition to two from play.
