Connacht League: Leitrim earned their first win under new manager Dessie Dolan in Bornacoola where his side easily defeated a second string Clare outfit in the Connacht FBD League yesterday.

Leitrim grabbed an early lead with Johnny Goldrick and Michael Duignan hitting points before Bobby Kelly shot over Clare's opening score. The home side took a solid grip on the proceedings with goals from by Daniel Beck and Darren Duignan. Clare hit back with a Danny Lynch point but Leitrim edged further ahead to lead by 2-6 to 0-2 at the break.

Leitrim stayed in control with Chris Carroll, Darren Duignan and Michael Foley adding points while Clare replied through from Lynch and Peadar McMahon.
