DESPITE being hit by the late defections of Cormac Dowling and Ciaran Leyden, Leinster displayed commendable resolve to come from behind and take the scalp of Yorkshire in this schools' representative encounter at Halifax yesterday.
In fact, replacements Brian McMahon and Jonathan Logan were well up to the challenge. Two penalties from Darragh Kavanagh put Leinster into a 6-0 lead. However, a try and three penalties by Yorkshire out half John Lofthouse slipped the home side 14-11 ahead at the break. Leinster's try came from scrum half Bobby Quigley.
With Leinster centres Shane Moore and Brian O'Driscoll forming a solid midfield partnership, and the forwards taking a lot of lineout ball, the visitors asserted their authority. Eventually, Kavanagh and hooker David Blaney got through for tries.
