DEREK RYAN goes into action in the shadow of the pyramids this afternoon when the last of the season's major ranking squash tournaments gets under way at Giza in Egypt.
Ryan, who recently moved to 15th on the world list, takes on Paul Johnson of England in the first round with Simon Parke likely to provide the opposition in the second round should he win. World number one Jansher Khan is also in the same quarter of the draw.
In Antwerp, meanwhile, the European Junior Champion of Champions tournament takes place with Ireland represented by Manchester based Patrick Foster. He is drawn in a tough group along with top seed Irish Open champion Lee Beachill of England as well as Austrian champion Andreas Fuchs.
