Laois 0-11, Mayo 0-6:Laois qualified for the All-Ireland under-21 final following their deserved win over reigning champions Mayo in Roscommon on Saturday.

In a game that never reached any great heights Laois pulled away in the final quarter before finishing with a five-point win but Mayo will feel the turning point in this game came inside a three-minute period of the second half when they had Colm Boyle sent off and also lost key midfielder Barry Moran with a leg injury.

Laois took a narrow advantage at the break when Michael Tierney pointed a '45 to give them a 0-5 to 0-4 half-time lead.

Within half a minute of the restart Mayo were back on level terms when Mark Ronaldson pointed from play. Three minutes later, however, they received a severe blow when Boyle was sent to the line after picking up his second yellow card.
