The world number two brought out the mare Quibell to clock 61.58 seconds to claim victory by four-hundredths of a second from Brazil's Bernardo Alves. Britain's Robert Whitaker was third.
Kürten netted 75,000 Swedish krone for the win and, possibly even more beneficial, now has a last to go place on the starting order for tomorrow's big World Cup class.
The higher up the order she finishes in the western European league, which winds up at the Swedish show tomorrow, the later start she gets in the World Cup in Malaysia.
