BASKETBALL NEWS: KILLESTER CLINCHED the Northern Conference in the latest round of SuperLeague games and will now gain home advantage in the semi-finals of the play-offs after their 83-51 hammering of UL Eagles.

“I think it was one of our best performances of the whole season,” said Killester head coach Mark Keenan. “Defensively we were superb. We managed to do well on our defensive rebounding against them. The win secures our place as winners of the conference. That was our goal coming down here, and we’re really delighted with the win.” he said.

Neptune are sending out a serious signal to the rest of the league with two impressive wins in the space of a week, the latest a high scoring 103-91 win away to cup champions UCD Marian.

“The two wins are exactly what we needed after the concern of not having played too many games recently,” said Neptune head coach Pat Price. “I am delighted we managed to convert 103 points against a Play-Off team and the cup winners.”
