Argentinian striker Hernan Crespo scored a last-minute equaliser as nine-man Parma held Juventus to a 1-1 draw yesterday, allowing Lazio to go top with a 3-1 victory over Bologna at the Olympic Stadium.

Juve, despite their poor finishing, had looked like coasting to victory after Alessandro del Piero converted a 69th-minute penalty and Parma had Stefano Torrisi and Dino Baggio sent off in rapid succession.

Instead Crespo's 12th goal of the season allowed Lazio to mark their centenary by regaining the top spot which they had lost five days ago with defeat at Venezia. Pavel Nedved and the new signing Fabrizio Ravanelli scored Lazio's second and third goals but not before Kennet Andersson had threatened to spoil his former club's party by equalising Marcelo Salas's first-half opener.

Lazio lead Serie A with 34 points, one ahead of Juve and three in front of Parma.

Elsewhere Udinese thrashed Perugia 5-0 and Cristiano Lucarelli's seventh goal of the season for Lecce condemned Torino to their sixth straight defeat. Bottom-of-the-table Cagliari won their first match of the season, 3-0 at home to their fellow strugglers Piacenza.

In Spain Rivaldo made a dramatic return for Barcelona, the Brazilian popping up in the final minute to seal a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo that lifted the Catalans to second in the league.

Rivaldo, who sat out two games after a row over tactics with the coach Louis van Gaal, came on as a second-half substitute with his side leading 1-0 through Luis Figo's early goal.
