Istabraq was yesterday reported to be right on track for his seasonal debut at Tipperary on Saturday where he could face two British-trained opponents as well as his highly rated stable companion Le Coudray.

A total of 12 horses remain in the £60,000 John James McManus Hurdle, including the two possible visitors, Master Beveled and the highly rated Happy Change. Happy Change is a smart flat performer who continues to feature in the ante-post betting for the Champion Hurdle, but his trainer Venetia Williams said yesterday: "No decision has been taken at this stage if he will travel to Ireland."

Master Beveled was placed twice to Istabraq last year, including when second to the champion in this race when it was run at Cork last November.

The transfer to Cork occurred after Tipperary was found to be unraceable, and a question mark over whether it will go ahead at the track this time could arise around Thursday. The ground at Tipperary is currently soft and rain is forecast for the area later in the week.

Aidan O'Brien gave an upbeat bulletin on Istabraq, although he does expect the dual Champion Hurdler to improve for the race.

"He will come on for it but he is very good form and is pleasing everybody. We have left Le Coudray in the race as well, but I will have to speak to JP (McManus) about whether he will run or not," said O'Brien.

Stravinsky, the season's leading European sprinter, will have his final race in the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Gulfstream Park, Florida on November 6th. The dual Group One winner was originally being aimed at the Breeders' Cup Mile but connections have had a change of heart.

Stravinsky's trainer Aidan O'Brien explained: "After much consideration, we have decided to aim Stravinsky at the Breeders' Cup Sprint, rather than the Mile."
