BASKETBALL/European Championships: Tomorrow night is more than just a vital international match for Ireland. While they must beat Switzerland to stand any chance of progressing to the next stage of the European Championships, off court the association must also impress.

With ESB's sponsorship over, prospective sponsors will be courted at the only significant men's international of the season at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.

Victory in Malta last Saturday saw Gerry Fitzpatrick's side get over the first of three hurdles in an eight-day period. Nothing short of three victories will suffice.

Rejuvenated by the return of Pat Burke and Dan Callaghan, along with the scoring impetus of Chris Bracey, Ireland will be expected to prevail. The Slovak Republic, who comfortably beat the Swiss over the weekend, are awaiting the visit of Ireland this Saturday.
