PAULA CHALMERS, the sister of Scotland out half Craig, was the catalyst for Scotland's biggest win over Ireland in the women's Four Nations championship.

Originally unavailable for the match, Chalmers was a late addition to the Scots bench and was brought on as a substitute for scrum half Sandra Colimartino at half time.

Chalmers' swift and accurate service from the base of the scrum transformed Scotland's play and, crucially, brought their back division into the game, staged at Pennypit.

Ireland scrum half Raeltine Shrieves, the pick of the Irish players, gave her side their only points with a penalty goal, but the Scots then replied with a second try for Sheerin, converted by Chalmers.
