Imtiyaz the danger

Imtiyaz is fancied to overturn likely hot favourite Kalaman in the On The House Stakes at Goodwood this evening.

On his best form Kalaman would win this, but he has proved a big disappointment since running a cracking race to be second in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and is certainly worth taking on.

Godolphin representative Imtiyaz will be having his first run since winning at Goodwood last September, when he beat the useful Miss Corniche a head in a 10-furlong Listed race.

Imtiyaz was worth more than the winning distance that day as his rider did not pick up the whip on him and just rode a hands and heels finish. That marked a return to form for the son of Woodman, and although a mile might be a bit on the short side for him nowadays, he can stay on to success in this Listed contest.

Watamu can make it two on the bounce in the Woodward At Goodwood 60th Birthday Handicap.
