Group Matches

1 - Three points for a win, two for a draw, one for a loss. If two teams are level on points at the end of the group stage then the winners will be:

(i) Winners of match between tied teams.

(ii) Team with highest points scored (total).

(iii) Team scoring most tries in that particular pool match.

(iv) Team scoring most tries in all pool matches.

(v) Total points scored by each team in all pool matches divided by total points scored against; team with highest points quotient wins.

(vi) Team with fewest players sent off in tournament wins.

(vii) Toss of a coin. 2 - If more than two teams, at the conclusion of the pool stage, are level on match points, then they will be ranked as follows:

(i) Most points scored.

(ii) Most tries scored. (iii) Best points quotient.

(iv) Fewest players sent off in tournament.

(v) Toss of a coin.

Third-Best Team

(i) Most number of match points. (ii) Most points scored. (iii) Most tries scored.

(iv) Best points scored quotient.

(v) Fewest players sent off in tournament.

(vi) Toss of a coin.

Knock-Out Stage/Final

Knock-out: In the event of teams drawing at full time in quarter-final play-offs, quarter-finals, semi-finals and third-place play-off.

(i) Extra time of 10 minutes each way. (ii) Most tries scored in that match. (iii) Team who have had fewest players sent off in tournament. (iv) Toss of a coin.

Final

(i) Extra time of 10 minutes each way.

(ii) Team scoring most tries in final.

(iii) Team with fewest players sent off in final. (iv) Finalists become joint holders of Webb Ellis Cup.
