Ridden for the first time by Paul Carberry, Scallybuck ran out an easy three and a half length winner from Unforgotten Star after taking it up two fences from home.

Afterwards trainer Michael Hourigan said: "Scallybuck will be trained for the Galway Plate, for he likes top of the ground. I thought it might be too soft for him today. That's the first time Paul Carberry has ridden him as my own son Paul usually rides the horse and has won twice on him."

Kilkenny trainer Eamon Sheehy registered his first racecourse double when Camden West gave jockey Barry Geraghty his 76th winner of the season in the Governor's Cup Beginners Chase shortly after Cronin's Boy had landed the Sunday Mirror Handicap Hurdle.

Robinstown Boy gave trainer Andrew Heffernan his first winner of the season on the racetrack when scoring by 11 lengths in the maiden hurdle.

Robinstown Boy had previously won four point-to-points - two for Heffernan and two for his previous owner, Gerry Cully.

Jockey John Egan enjoyed a successful trip to Austria yesterday when he won the local 2,000 Guineas. "I won on an ex-Dermot Weld horse called Sharp Focus," Egan said as he waited for his flight home.
