Michael Hoey's bid for a second successive Challenge Tour victory at the Allianz Golf Open de Toulouse ended in disappointment after a final round of level par 72 saw him finish eight strokes behind winner Joost Luiten.

The 28-year-old began the week with a blistering eight under 64 at the Golf de Toulouse-Seilh, but he could not continue his low scoringform over the next three rounds and had to settle for a share of seventh place on nine under par.

There were similar disappointing finishes from Athlone's Colm Moriaty and Dublin's Stephen Browne.

Moriarty, a winner on the Europro Tour last week, carded a final round 76 to fall back to four under par and a share of 27th place, while Browne's fourth round 75 left him on two under for the week and in 39th position.
