The Golfing Union of Ireland announced an 11-man Ireland team to compete in the 2006 Home Internationals at Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club in Wales on September 6th-8th.

Team captain Michael Burns also named Portstewart's Paul Cutler and Paul O'Kane from Moyola Park as non-travelling reserves.

Meanwhile the Irish team competing at the European Seniors Championship at Ruuhikoski Golf Club in Finland have reached the final in convincing fashion following a 4½ to ½ drubbing of England yesterday.

Having qualified for the top flight in fourth place, the Irish team were pitted against leading qualifiers England in a battle to see who would play Scotland in today's final as the Irish look to bridge a five-year gap since their last European success.
