University of Limerick 0-12 GMIT 1-8: Free-taker David Greene pointed the way to a Fitzgibbon Cup semi finals berth for University of Limerick at Limerick, yesterday.

The in-form Greene had his side looking safe at 0-11 to 0-7 entering injury time, but GMIT's Barry Hanley threatened to spoil the celebrations with a late goal.

UL held a 0-6 to 0-5 lead at half-time and there was precious little between them in the third quarter, and at 0-7 each it was wide open.

UL lifted their challenge for Greene and Niall Moran to put distance between the sides, but Hanley's late strike made for a thrilling finale.
