Darren Gough will learn over the next few days whether he is to be reported to the Sri Lankan Cricket Board over his confrontation with a Colts XI batsman during England's one-day victory over the weekend.

The Yorkshire fast bowler was involved in an angry incident with batsman Indika de Saram during the eight-wicket triumph in Kurunegala after he was impeded attempting a run-out in his follow-through.

Gough felt aggrieved that de Saram had stood in his way as he attempted to kick the ball onto the stumps and prevent a quick single, sending him crashing to the floor halfway down the wicket.

He remonstrated both with the player and umpire T N Samrasinghe, who flinched when England's premier strike bowler reached out to take his sunglasses off him.

The official confirmed that he would not be mentioning the incident in his report despite Gough's animated gestures towards him as he walked off the pitch for treatment.

But Colts XI coach, Hemantha Devpriya is more reluctant to let the matter rest.
