Last year's Junior Cup runners-up Gonzaga continue to produce teams that look capable of challenging the leading rugby schools in Leinster after a convincing 29-10 victory over Naas CBS in Maynooth.

The reward for yesterday's four-try display, inspired by outhalf Ferdia Doherty, is a place in the quarter-finals against Terenure.

Flanker and captain Mark McGroarty was sent under the posts by Doherty after a well executed short lineout in the opening exchanges.

Doherty converted before adding a penalty and seven points of his own to leave it 17-3 at the interval.

A Stephen Murphy try was followed by a powerful run from fullback Daniel Diviney, which allowed Doherty bring his afternoon total up to 14 points with the conversion.

Terenure crossed for two tries in each half to overcome a spirited The King's Hospital side 13-0 at Barnhall RFC. After an early Barry Kelly penalty, fullback Niall Thornton crossed for a try after 25 minutes. Victory was secured when left wing Stephen Lowe touched down midway through the second half.
