EUROPEAN TOUR: Angelo Que of the Philippines wielded a hot putter to take a four-stroke clubhouse lead at the end of a weather-affected first day at the Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia Open.

Que needed just 20 putts to card an eight-under-par 64 at the New Kuta Golf Club, which put him on top in an event co-sanctioned by The European Tour with the Asian tours.

Gary Murphy finished on two-under-par 70, while Michael Hoey is a shot further back after a 71.

Five share lead in Melbourne

Four Irish qualify in Spain

AMATEUR: Four Irish players, Shane Lowry, Andrew Hogan, Paul Cutler and Alan Dunbar, qualified for the matchplay stages of the Spanish Amateur Championhship in Seville yesterday.

Lowry qualified on 151 with the other three all on 153.

Jin Joo Hong sets target

LPGA TOUR: South Korean Jin Joo Hong set the tone early at the Honda LPGA Thailand in the first group of the day, finishing at six-under-par 66 (35-31) and two strokes ahead of five players tied for second at four-under-par 68.
