WICKLOW SFC SEMI-FINAL/Rathnew 1-8 St Patrick's 2-5:RATHNEW BARELY held on to their football crown, needing an injury-time point to give them a draw with parish neighbours St Patrick's at Aughrim yesterday.

The equaliser in the 65th minute was scored by Leighton Glynn, who this day week heads to Australia to join the Irish squad for the International Rules series.

Paul Earls’ early goal helped St Pat’s into a 1-3 to 0-0 lead. But Rathnew finally gained traction when Enan Glynn finished to the net for a tonic goal and the sides were level at 1-4 apiece at half-time. St Patrick’s super sub Eamonn Woulfe volleyed a great goal to put his team ahead by a point, 2-5 to 1-7. But deep in injury time Leighton Glynn finally got the opening to pop over the crucial equaliser. The replay takes place next Saturday in Aughrim.
