Glover lands double

Jeremy Glover walked the course at Thirsk before racing yesterday and must have been delighted with what he saw.

For the Worksop trainer came away from the North Yorkshire track with a 59 to 1 double courtesy of Three For A Pound and Daawe.

The former did it the hard way in the opening Studford Leisure Carpenter Arms, Felixkirk Stakes after a tardy start.

However, jockey Jimmy Fortune managed to guide his mount from last to first before, taking up the running two furlongs from home to score by two and a half lengths from Finisterre.

Glover was full of praise for jockey Steve Williams after Daawe just held off the strong late challenge of odds-on favourite Jennelle in the five-furlong Hambleton Limited Stakes.
