Dublin’s Eoghan O’Gara ruled out for the season

Cruciate ligament injury is ‘very disappointing’ for the player

The Dublin county board have confirmed that senior footballer Eoghan O'Gara sustained a knee injury on Sunday while playing with his club Templeogue Sygne Street.

The injury has been diagnosed as an ACL rupture and will result in O’Gara missing out the rest of the 2015 season.

"On a personal level this is extremely disappointing for Eoghan," said Dublin manager Jim Gavin.

"His start to the 2015 season had been very positive with some excellent performances in the O'Byrne Cup and National Football League. Protocols have been activated to ensure that Eoghan will receive the best of medical care and the Dublin Football medical and coaching staff will actively assist in his recovery over the weeks and months ahead. We wish Eoghan a speedy recovery, and we look forward to seeing him back to full health in the near future".
