Furyk started the day three shots behind Langham but closed with a seven-under-par 65 compared to his rival's 70. He produced six birdies over the final nine holes to finish on 23 under.

Langham's could only manage one birdie and had to endure three bogeys over the same period.

Zimbabwe's Nick Price finished third on 18 under after a final-round 67 while world number two David Duval (66) moved up to tie for fourth with Japan's Shigeki Maruyama (69) on 17 under.
