Foxrock's added interest

THREE members of Foxrock will have an added interest in the Leinster Schools' Senior Cup semi-final between Blackrock and St Mary's at Lansdowne Road next Sunday. Johnny Woods, the father of Irish winger Niall, and vice-captain at Foxrock this year, former international Johnny Quirke, and Noel Meagan all won senior cup medals with Blackrock and all in the same position of scrum half. Now all three are members of the same golf club where they can also call on Nial Brophy, immediate past president of the IRFU, and Bill Meagher, who was captain of Foxrock in 1997, also played in the Rock colours.
